Three more people died from severe burns in the horrific tanker-truck crash on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway near Bhankrota on Saturday, December 20, 2024, bringing the total number of fatalities from the incident to 14. Five of the victims are still unidentified since it was difficult to identify them due to their bodies being so severely burned.

The unfortunate incident happened on Friday morning when a truck traveling in the other direction collided with a tanker carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) that was attempting a U-turn on the highway. The impact set up a huge fire that quickly engulfed about three dozen cars along a 300-meter section of the road.

To identify the victims and assist the impacted families, authorities are putting in endless effort. This horrifying event emphasizes how urgently improved safety protocols and more stringent traffic laws on important thoroughfares are needed.
